b. 12 Sep 1923, d. 5 Apr 1968.  Virgil Edward Hengtgen was born to Edward and Beulah (Rand) Hengtgen in Storden Twp., Cottonwood Co., MN. He attended the Storden and Jeffers public schools. After graduation, he also attended an engineer’s school.

From 1943-1946, Virgil served in the U.S. Army; for 2 of these years, he was overseas.

On 25 Jun 1948, he married Bernice Muller; they had 2 children.

After his service, he worked as a truck driver, being employed by the Hodgman Construction Company, and for 20 years, he was employed by the Standard Oil Company in Windom, MN.

Member of the VFW and was its commander for a while.

Buried at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Windom, MN.
