b. 28 Oct 1964. Vaughn Leroy Corwin was born to Larry and Carol (Swanson) Corwin in Dickenson, ND. The family moved to Windom, MN in 1977 and Vaughn graduated from Windom High School.

Vaughn entered the U.S. Army in June of 1983 when he was a junior in high school.   He served as a member of the 95 B Military Police  and was stationed at the Sierra Army Depot in California, and at Nurnberg, Germany. He stated in an oral interview that one of his fondest memories was when he was stationed in Germany during the Oktoberfest that was held in Munich.  His Military Police unit was invited to work with the German police at the site of the big celebration in Munich. After all the festivities were over, they would be given a party in honor of their participation with the local police department.

He was discharged in 1986 with the rank of Spec 4 or E-4. He received the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Overseas Ribbon, the Army Achievement Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal for his service.

Vaughn also earned an AAS degree in Electronic Engineering and in Refrigeration and in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC).

On 23 Jun 2001, he married Traci; last name unknown. Vaughn  owned and operated  Corwin’s Refrigeration and Heating in Windom, MN.
