b. 28 Aug 1928; d. 13 Jun 1993. Stanley Leland Foth, son of Jacob and Elizabeth (Dick) Foth of Mountain Lake, MN, attended rural school for eight years and graduated from Mt. Lake High School.

He married Edna Schmitgen on 30 Dec 1950 in Harold, SD; they had three children.

In Jan 1951, Stanley was inducted into the U.S. Army and sent to Fort Riley, KS, for basic training.  He was sent to Korea later in 1951, where he was assigned to the 2nd Infantry Division and earned the rank of Corporal.  He returned to the U.S. in Aug 1952 and was discharged at Camp McCoy, WI in Oct 1952.

After his military service, Stanley worked as a police officer in Pierre, SD, then moved to rural Onida where he engaged in farming and ranching. He was a member of the Buffalo school board, the Soil Conservation Service, the Sully County American Legion and drove a school bus for Sully Buttes School.  He also was an active member of the Mennonite Brethren Church in Onida and sang in the Sully County Chorus.

Stanley is buried at the Onida Cemetery.
