b. 20 Oct 1940; d. 06 Apr 2013.  Stanley Alfred “Red” Egenes, son of Lars and Dessie A. (Earp) Egenes of Storden, MN, was born on the family farm south of Storden.  He graduated from Storden High School in 1959 and then attended Jackson Vo-Tech school, earning a degree in accounting.

Red worked for Horkey Construction in Windom before entering the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in early 1962.  He served at Camp Carson, CO, until receiving his honorable discharge in Dec 1963.

Red married Ruth Schuknecht on 02 Jun 1962.  In 1966, they moved to Slayton, MN.  He later earned his Bachelor Degree in Business at Southwest State University in Marshall, MN.  Red worked for several accounting firms before establishing his own business; he was also an Enrolled Agent & Broker and licensed in Real Estate and Appraisals.  Red belonged to the Slayton American Legion and served on the Slayton Fire Department.  He was also a Jaycee for many years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Red Egenes died in 2013 at his home in Slayton.   He is buried at Amo Lutheran Church Cemetery.
