b. 24 Feb 1934; d. 08 Dec 2007.  Robert Dean “Bob” Grams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Grams of Westbrook, MN, was born in Ann Twp, Cottonwood County, MN.  Bob attended country school near Vesta through the 8th grade.  The family then moved near Walnut Grove where he completed high school in 1952.

After high school, Bob served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, including a two-year tour of duty in Alaska.  He returned from Alaska in Jan 1956.  After his military service, he returned to the area and, in 1959, married Donna Jackels.  They made their home in Storden and had three sons, Dean, Kelly and Bruce.  Donna died in 1973.  In Nov 1974, Bob married Sandra (Johnson) Roby and adopted her daughter Lynn.  Bob then spent the rest of his life in business in Storden.  His first years were with Storden Egg Produce, then the Storden Farm Center and finally the Coffee Shop and Shady Drive Inn.

Bob served the City of Storden for thirty-four years: eleven years as councilman and twenty-three as mayor.  He served on several Boards for organizations that supported people with disabilities – ARC, Swan Lake DAC, and SW MN Mental Health.  He was on the Rolling Hills Golf Club Board, Bethany Lutheran Church Council, and a past Commander of the Storden American Legion.

Bob Grams died of a massive stroke in 2007.  He is survived by his wife, Sandy; three children and their spouses; seven grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister.
