b. 17 Jun 1930; d. 2 Jun 2016. Richard L. Duroe was born to Collingwood and Petra (Olson) Duroe, in Cottonwood Co., MN. He received his education in Jeffers Public Schools, graduating in 1948. He then attended Iowa State University in Ames, IA for four years.

In 1953, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as an Artillery Officer with Battery B, 58th Field Artillery Battalion and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK, Japan; and Korea. He was honorably discharged in Feb 1955 with the rank of 1st Lieutenant.

After his discharge, Richard returned to Jeffers and worked with his brother at the C.R. Duroe Agency at the Jeffers State Bank, selling insurance for many years until his retirement.

Member of the American Legion Post #401 in Jeffers.

Buried at Jeffers Cemetery in rural Jeffers.
