b. 8 Feb 1925;  d.1 Aug 2005.  Milton Robert “Milt” Nielsen was born to Anton and Ane Marie (Hansen) Nielsen in Tyler, MN. He graduated from Lake Benton High School in 1943.

During WWII, he served his country from 1943 until the end of the war.

In 1948, Milt married Marilyn Nelson; they had 5 children.

Milt was involved with professional baseball until 1954 when the family moved to Windom. He was an American Major League Baseball center fielder who played for two seasons. He played for the Cleveland Indians in 1949 and 1951, appearing in 19 career games as an outfielder, pinch hitter, and pinch runner.

In 1957, he began working in the automobile business, working first for Anderson Chevrolet, and then for Steffens Chevrolet in Windom.

While in Windom, Milt also was a volunteer fireman, an emergency rescue squad  member, and a member of the American Legion.

In 1967, the family moved to St. Peter, MN where Milt became the general manager of Motor Inn Chevrolet Co.  He managed this dealership until 1985 when he acquired the assets and renamed it Nielson Chev-Olds Inc.

Buried at Resurrection Cemetery at St. Peter, MN.
