Mervin W. Hunter

b. 23 Oct 1917; d. 28 Jun 2006.  Mervin Willis Hunter was born to Earl V. and Aileen (Snyder) Hunter in Dale Twp. of Cottonwood Co, MN.  He received his early education in rural schools before attending Jeffers Public Schools. He also worked as a farm hand before enlisting in the US Army in 1940.  He was honorably discharged in 1945.

In 1943 he married Mildred Scurr.  The couple lived in CA at the Camp Roberts Army Base for the next 2 1/2 years and then returned to Windom in 1945. They began farming, which they continued to do until 1988. Mildred died in 1992, and Mervin married Barbara Ann Kuehl in 1993.  In 2004, Mervin became a resident at the Sogge Good Samaritan Center in Windom.

Buried at Memory Gardens in rural Windom, MN.
