b. 28 Oct 1921, d. 20 Dec 1977.   Lloyd Joseph Eike was born to Helery B. and Anna (Schmitz) Eike at Halbur, IA. In 1932, the family moved to Pocahontas, IA, where he grew up and attended school.  Eike attended IA State College before entering the U.S. Army during WWII, serving as a paratroop officer in Europe.

On 28 Nov 1948 he married Eileen Gerdes; they had 8 children and farmed in Weimer Twp. for 29 years. He was chosen in 1954 by the Windom Jaycees as the outstanding farmer of the year.

Buried at the Union Cemetery in Pomeroy, IA.
