b. 7 Mar 1914;  16 Jan 2004.  Leslie Roy “Les” Mattison was born to Nels and Lizzie (Tollefson) Mattison in Highwater Twp., Cottonwood Co., MN. He attended country school District #112 and worked on the family farm.

On 26 Jan 1942, Leslie entered the U.S. Army and served in Germany, Belgium, and France.  He was honorably discharged on 12 Oct 1945.  Les returned to the Lamberton, MN area and farmed in Johnsonville Twp., Redwood, Co.

On 14 Jul 1947, he married Fern Doyle.   Fern died on 2 Jun 1948.  On 1 Sep 1949, he married Florence Fennern.  Les had 3 children.  Les and Florence retired from farming in 1983 and moved to Springfield, MN. Florence died in 1993. Les moved to Lamberton in 1994.

Member of the American Legion.

Buried at the Lamberton Cemetery, Lamberton, MN.
