b. 26 Nov 1920, d. 23 Aug 2005.  Kenneth “Ken” Hunter, Sr. was born to Earl and Aeline (Snyder) Hunter in Amo Twp., Cottonwood Co., MN. He received his education in Dist. 22 Country School through the 8th grade. According to his discharge papers, he also had two years of high school.

On 18 Aug 1942, Ken enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Snelling, MN and was honorably discharged on 14 Aug 1945 with the rank of Private 1st Class.  He was a truck driver in the 19th Communications Squadron.  He served in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe.  He received a Good Conduct Medal  and a European-African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal and SO 68 563rd AW BN 45 for his service.

On 9 Dec 1945, he married Beverly Iverson; they had 3 children.  The family lived in the Wilder and Windom areas except from 1957-1964 when they lived in the Worthington and Fulda areas.  Ken farmed for many years and worked at the Toro Company in Windom for 18 years, retiring in 1984.
