b. 22 Apr 1943; d. 09 Jul 2015.  James Russell “Jim” Caldwell, son of Alfred Patrick & Audrey L. (McCloud) Caldwell of Windom, graduated from Windom High School in 1961.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962.  His 4 years and 3 months of service in the Navy included a tour of duty in the West Indies.  He was discharged in 1966.

Jim married Luinea Elizabeth Bush on 01 Oct 1966; they had 3 children.  The couple farmed for a period of time before Jim became interested in working with computers.  He attended a tech school and became a systems analyst for Citibank in Sioux Falls, SD. He retired after 19 years of service.

In 1979, he was named to the Outstanding Young Men of America. He also served as a U.S. JC Senator and Ambassador. The family lived in Brandon, SD where Jim was involved in the Vets to Vets program of America, and other community activities.
