James L. Kuiper, son of Albert and Irene (Storbeck) Kuiper of Bingham Lake, MN, was inducted into the U.S. Army in Jan 1966.  He was sent to Fort Leonard Wood, MO, for basic training.  Following completion of basic training, James was transferred to Fort Eustis, VA, for added training as a ‘Mechanic’. James was later re-assigned to Fort Hood, TX, before being sent to Vietnam in 1967. In Vietnam, he was assigned to the 240th Assault Helicopter Company.  He was discharged in Dec 1967 and awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam, in 1967.

James married Suzanne Kaye Clark on 03 Sep 1966.
