b. 2 Mar 1918; d. 30 Jun 1944.  James Holt was born to Mr. and Mrs. George Holt at Rose Grove near Jewel, IA.  His family moved to Windom, MN in 1930 where he finished his education and worked on the family farm.

He entered the U.S. Army on 1 Dec 1941 and trained at Camp Leavenworth, KS; at Polk, LA; at Rice, CA; at Camp Pickett, VA; and Indianstown Gap, PA before being sent overseas.

On 30 Jun 1944, Sgt. Holt was killed in action 3 weeks and 3 days into the Normandy Invasion of France. He was with an armored division of the Infantry.

On 6 Mar 1943, he married Orna Addeson in FL.
