b. 4 May 1923, d. 23 Mar 2010.  James Hetherington Dokken was born to Elmer and Altha (Hetherington) Dokken in St. Paul, MN. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Cokato, where he graduated from Cokato High School in 1940. He received his certificate of mortuary science and became a licensed funeral director.

After enlisting with the U.S. Navy in 1943 and serving as a medical corpsman, he later attended the University of MN and graduated with a medical degree in 1953.

In 1950, Jim married Leora “Tory” Easton; they had 3 children and lived in Minneapolis before moving to Windom, MN in 1953.

Jim began a family practice at the Windom Medical Clinic and continued in later years at the Mt. Lake Clinic before retiring in 1991.

Buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom, MN
