Howard Glasser

b. 13 Jan 1892; d. 27 Jan 1963.  Howard Glasser was born in  Abbott, IA to Louis (Ludwig) and Katherine (Burke) Glasser.  In 1903, his family moved to a farm in Carson Twp., Cottonwood Co., MN.   Howard remained in the area working for a brother Paul as a farm laborer in Carson Twp., until 1918 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWI.

On 25 Jun 1918 Howard enlisted in the Army and was assigned to Co. 20, Depot Brigade, 86th Division at Camp Grant, IL.  After training at Camp Grant, he was transferred on 2 Aug 1918 to Co. C, 343rd Infantry, 86th Division. On 12 Sep 1918, his unit sailed for Southampton, England, but was never sent to an active sector. On 17 Jan 1919, Private Glasser was discharged at Camp Grant.

After returning from the service in 1919, no other information about him relating to his employment, occupation or residency was found until his death in 1963 in Tracy, MN.
