b. 10 Jul 1836; d. 18 Nov 1900.  Frank Parson was born in Canada according to Find-a-Grave and born in Wisconsin according to his obituary.  By 1861, he was living in Wisconsin when he enlisted in the Union Army.  He was transferred to Company I 21 WI Infantry on 15 Aug 1862 and discharged on 15 Aug 1864.

Parso was in the Army of the Cumberland, one of the principal Union armies in the Western Theater during the American Civil War, and as a consequence, saw much hard service.  At the Battle of Perryville, he was shot in the leg.  He was also shot in the foot at Chickamauga and spent several months in a hospital.  Afterwards, he walked with a limp for the remainder of his life.

After the war he returned to Wisconsin and married Arzelia L. Ferrell; they had two sons.

In 1870, he and his family came to Cottonwood County,MN and homesteaded in section 32 of Lakeside Township. In 1897, he moved to Windom.
