b. 8 Jan 1911, d.  27 Nov 1994. Elmer Benson was born to Elmer, Sr. and Clara (Hallberg) Bentson in Forman, ND. He graduated from Forman High School in 1928.  In 1938 he married Cordula Will in Sisseton, SD. During WWII he served in the Navy in the allied invasion in the Phillipines.   After his honorable discharge he returned home and lived in Brown’s Valley until 1953 when Elmer and Cordula moved to St. Paul, MN. In 1956 they moved to Mankato, MN where he was employed by the Minnesota State Highway Department. In 1959 they moved to Windom where Elmer worked as a signman for the highway department until his retirement in 1976. Member of the American Legion. Buried at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Windom, MN.
