b. 15 Sep 1919, d. 24 Nov 2012.  Douglas George was born to Charles Albert and Millie (Johnson) Anderson in International Falls, MN and grew up in Littlefork where he graduated from Littlefork High School in 1937. He attended the University of Minnesota  and received his Bachelor of Science degree in agriculture.

During his first year of teaching at Clarissa, he was inducted into the US Army where he attended Adjutant General and Counter Intelligence School.  After receiving an honorable discharge, he was employed as an instructor in Koochiching County and then served as the Koochiching County Superintendent of Schools.

In 1958 he received his Master’s Degree from the University of Minnesota in agriculture education/school administration. He served as Superintendent of Schools in several locations including Mt. Lake, MN from 1976 – 1983 when he retired.

He was a member of the Iowa State Education Association and the Minnesota Association of School Administrators. He was also active as a volunteer for many organizations and was the adjutant for the Mt. Lake American Legion Post 389 for 10 years.

On 21 Aug 1954 he married Sharmelyn Severson.  They had 4 children.

He is buried at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
