b. 26 Jan 1895; d. 19 Sep 1952.  Cyril Clark Foss was born in Great Bend Twp., Cottonwood Co., MN to Julius E. and Berth Mae (Wood) Foss. He grew up in the Windom and Lakefield MN areas and graduated from Windom High School with the class of 1914.  He went on to graduate from the School of Military Aeronautics at the University of Illinois.

On 15 May 1917, Cyril enlisted in the U.S. Army at Fort Snelling in the 1st Officers Training School.  He was transferred to Rontaine Flying Field, Illinois and later to the University of Minnesota where he stayed until his discharge.  Cyril was promoted to the rank of 1st Sergeant on 3 Oct 1918.  On 30 Nov 1919, he was discharged.

After his discharge, Cyril moved to Minneapolis  where he worked in sales. On 12 Jul 1935, he married Opal Beulah Snyder in Des Moines IA; they had 2 children. Abt. 1935, they moved to Des Moines where he worked as a manager (business name unknown). By 1952, they moved to Milwaukee, WI.

Buried at the Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
