b. 22 Aug 1919, d. Sep 1986.  Boyd Alvah Duncan, son of Alvah and Ruby (Johnson) Duncan, was born in Windom, MN. He was educated in rural schools and graduated from Jeffers High School in 1939.

He joined the Army Air Corps in 1940 and served in the European Theater during WWII. After the war, Boyd continued in the Army Air Corps/Air Force for 20 years until retiring on 28 Feb 1961.  During this time in service, he drew a tour of Japan and another in Europe.

On 21 Nov 1945, he married Helen M. Frenzen; they had 3 sons.

After retirement from the military, Boyd graduated from Mankato State University with a bachelor’s degree in sociology.  He then earned his master’s degree in sociology from the University of Iowa.  After receiving his degrees, he was a member of the sociology department at Mankato State University for 20 years.

Buried at Lakeview Cemetery in Windom, MN.
