b. 14 Apr 1888; d. 24 Feb 1945. Arie Heijn was born in Purmerlind, Holland, to Cornelius Heijn and Willenfrji (Koeman) Heijn.  On 27 Feb 1907,  Arie immigrated to the U.S. arriving in New York on the ship Ryndam. His family moved to Christiania Twp., Jackson Co., MN.  At the time of his enlistment in WWI, he was employed as a house painter for Axel Amundson of Windom.

On 2 May 1918, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to Columbus Barracks, Cincinnati, OH.  He was discharged in Jun 1919 at Cincinnati, OH.

Arie also participated in WWII fighting for the Dutch Army. On 24 Feb 1945, Arie was killed in action  and is buried in Reppner, Germany.

After his discharge from the U.S. Army in 1919, Arie moved to  Boston, MA.  Other information concerning his civilian life is unknown.
