b. 29 Mar 1944; d. 10 Feb 2012.  Alfred Jens “Al” Lentz, son of Martin and Clara (Flint) Lentz, was born in Emmetsburg, IA.  He attended Mt. Lake Public Schools in Mt. Lake, MN.

Al was inducted into the U.S. Army in Jun 1965. Following basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, he was transferred to the Southeastern Signal School, Fort Gordon, GA, where he graduated from ‘Lineman’ training in Nov 1965.  He also completed his GED while in the military.

After his discharge, Al worked in construction and operated his own construction company from 1977 thru 1980.  He was also a dance instructor for the Claiborne Dance Studios and was employed by Ross Design Manufacturing from 1990-1996.

Al’s first marriage was to Sherry Davis.  They had a son and daughter. Al then married Valerie Crane on 19 Aug 1995.   Al and Valerie moved to Jackson, MN, in 2001.

Al Lentz died at Sanford Hospital in Jackson in 2012 and is buried at the Mt. Lake City Cemetery, Mt. Lake, MN.
